The Overview
of Vital Events page and the actual BC Archives search pages state
"Please note that all inquiries regarding the registrations must
be submitted to the British Columbia Vital Statistics Agency". The
fees for these services are outlined in the Vital
Statistics Agency Fee List. The fee schedule provided for genealogical
material is as follows (effective 1 Apr 1999):
Genealogy
1) Genealogy Extract and/or extended Search - $50.00
* An inclusive charge of $60.00 will be made for services required
within 24 hours for Change of Name Certificates, and Certificates or Photocopies
of Births, Deaths, and Marriages.
Specify all of the information from the index for the registration requested
and mail to:

Method #2 - Microfilm Collections
Copies of original registration documents are available on microfilm at
the BC Archives and various locations throughout the province (listed below).
Contact a friend or relative who lives near one of these locations, and
ask, beg, or bribe them to go down to one of these locations and conduct
a search and copy the information for you.

a copy of the microfilms in Salt Lake City, Utah. Individuals may borrow
rolls of the microfilm collection through any of the Church's Family History
Centers.
Method #3 - Victoria Genealogical Society
The Victoria Genealogical Society
will provide copies of the registrations for you at a cost of $10.00 per
certificate and will perform other genealogical searches for British Columbia.
