Geography

Total Area: 947,800 sq. km of which 929,730 sq. km. land surface and 18,070 sq. km. is freshwater surface.
This represents 9.5% of Canada and makes BC the third largest province.
Length of coastline: 17,856 km.
Topography: The province in mostly mountainous with deep river valleys. However the north-east part of the province is an extension of the Central Plains.
